Spicy Purple Cauliflower in Smoked Teriyaki Sauce

We love this spicy purple cauliflower in smoked teriyaki sauce - it’s so rare to get some of these flavors together, so we keep coming back for more!

Instructions

  • Cut the cauliflower into bite size pieces, wash thoroughly and steam for 10 to 15 minutes (according to your own taste/size). Prick the florets with a wooden skewer or fork to check if they are tender enough but not mushy.
  • In a small jar prepare the sauce by combining all the ingredients and mix well.
  • Heat the vegetable oil in a well oiled wok or big pan.
  • Add the minced garlic and the chili flakes, give a quick mix then add the steamed cauliflower bites.
  • Pour the sauce in, make sure to toss every piece of cauliflower with it and stir fry on high heat for 30 seconds to 1 minute.
  • Serve straight away with (optional) chopped spring onions, sesame seeds and more chili flakes.

Notes

You can replace the first three ingredients of the sauce with 3 tablespoons of teriyaki sauce and the liquid smoke with half a teaspoon of smoked paprika or you can omit the latest it altogether.
