Potato gateau, or "Gattò di Patate," is a classic dish from Naples, Italy. Traditionally made with potatoes, cheese, eggs and ham, this vegan version captures the same rich flavours and textures without using any animal products. 🔪 How to Make "Gattò di Patate"
Step 1: Prepare the Mashed Potatoes
Boil the potatoes in a large pot of salted water until they are tender (about 15-20 minutes).
Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add the plant-based milk and vegan butter.

Step 2: Prepare the Filling
Preheat your oven to 200°C (390°F).
In a mixing bowl, combine the mashed potato with vegan mozzarella, vegan Parmesan and diced vegan meats or smoked tofu, if using.

Otherwise you can swap them with smoked tofu or tempeh cubes, too keep it protein packed and healthier.
Moreover, you can use use sweet potatoes instead of a portion and up to ½ the potato quantity to make this gateau more interesting and flavourful.
