🥢What is Goma Miso Dressing
Goma miso dressing is a flavourful Japanese sauce that blends toasted sesame seeds (goma - 胡麻) with miso paste, creating a rich, nutty, and savoury dressing. The miso adds a salty depth, while the sesame provides a creamy, roasted flavour. This simple yet complex dressing is a staple in Japanese cuisine and is perfect for those who love bold, umami-rich flavours.

🔪 How to Make Goma Miso Dressing in Just 5 Minutes!
STEP 1 - Grind Seeds
Using a mortar and pestle or a food processor, ground the sesame seeds according to your preferences: more for a smoother dressing, less (coarsely) for a textured sauce.
STEP 2 - Toast the Seeds
Add sesame oil to a pan, followed by ground sesame seeds and gently roast over low heat until fragrant and slightly coloured.
STEP 3 - Mix Miso Paste & Soy Sauce
Dissolve the miso paste in the soy sauce until smooth and creamy.
STEP 4 - Combine and Enjoy
Add maple syrup to the sesame seed, stir well and warm it all for no longer than 30 seconds.
Remove from heat and stir in the soy sauce + miso mixture. Stir well to combine and use it in your favourite recipes!

✍🏻Variations
Spicy Kick: Add a pinch of red pepper flakes or a drizzle of sriracha for some heat.
Citrus Zing: Add a splash of lemon or lime juice for a bright, refreshing twist.
Sweeter Variation: For a sweeter dressing, increase the amount of sugar or maple syrup.
🥡Storage
Once the dressing is ready, store in a jar or an airtight container in the fridge. It should keep for up to 2 weeks.
🍛 Where to Use it
Salads: Pour over leafy greens, cucumber salads, or a cold soba noodle salad for an instant flavour boost.
Vegetable Bowls: Toss steamed or roasted vegetables like green beans, spinach, pak choi, broccoli in goma miso dressing for a satisfying side dish.
Miso Aubergine: This dressing makes an amazing miso aubergine, just follow the steps you find in this recipe using this dressing instead.
Dipping Sauce: Use as a dipping sauce for sushi, spring rolls, or grilled tofu for an umami-rich addition.
Marinade: Goma miso makes an excellent marinade for tofu, tempeh, or mushrooms, infusing them with deep, savoury flavours.
